Welcome to the SpiderLink Database Support page. Our plan is to make this Web site the best source for information on how to publish your database on the Web. Databases are unarguably the best way to manage large amounts of information. You can use Microsoft Access, Fox Pro, Paradox, Dbase, Microsoft SQL Server, and more as your back end database. Creating interactive Web pages for any of these data sources is easy!

Microsoft's Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) protocol together with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), the Web Server that powers this site, makes it possible to quickly and easily design a complete Web interface to any of these data sources. We support Microsoft's IDC/HTX scripting language as well as the popular Cold Fusion package. You can View the Cold Fusion User Guide on-line by clicking right here!

If you are familiar with SQL and know how to create database tables, fields, and queries, you are on you way to making your data available live to the world in the form of a Web page! People visiting your Web page can even insert, update, and delete records from your database depending on how you decide to set it up. All information on this Web site is designed to assist you in creating your Web page database connection whether you are a SpiderLink customer or not. We encourage you to participate and share your experiences.

Note: The "CFFILE" Cold Fusion tag is not supported on our server due to security issues. We have been told that future versions of Cold Fusion will be more "ISP friendly" and allow tighter control of the CFFILE function.
